Mortgage Professionals Do

1)    Over 60% of the mortgages originated in Tennessee.
2)    All Loan Originators are registered with the TNDFI – Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions.
3)    Originate and Process Loans.
4)    Work with multiple wholesale investors offering many mortgage programs.
5)    Offer multiple programs which might fit the consumer’s needs.
6)    Coordinate with the Realtor or Builder to complete a Purchase transaction.
7)    Order title for Refinance loans and some Purchase loans.
8)    Coordinate with Title Agency to complete the Closing on time.


Mortgage Professionals Might Do

1)    Be Certified by the National Asociation of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB): General Mortgage Associate (GMA), Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist (CRMS), Certified Mortgage Consultant (CMC). 

The National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) is a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting the highest degree of professionalism for its members and providing ethical and professional standards against which mortgage professionals can be measured.

In order to achieve this goal, NAMB has developed a rigorous certification program to recognize professionals who have attained the highest levels of professional knowledge. Developed through extensive research by mortgage industry professionals, a NAMB certification is gained only once the candidate has met certain requirements of experience and knowledge to practice mortgage originating and has passed a written examination.

When combined with our code of ethics and best business practices, a NAMB certified mortgage professional is your guarantee that you are dealing with a recognized professional in the mortgage origination field.

Mortgage Professionals Don’t

1)    Fund loans. The money to close the loan is provided by the wholesale lender or a warehouse line of credit.
2)    Underwrite or “approve” any loans – Guidelines and underwriting are done by the lender.
3)    Write Real Estate Contracts or negotiate with sellers for terms on selling their house.

4)    Collect mortgage payments, pay taxes or insurance.
5)    Call the borrower for delinquent payments – this is the responsibility of the lender/servicer.
6)    Foreclose on loans – this is the responsibility of the lender.
7)    Make Pay Day Loans
8)    Make Car Title Loans
